Gordano

 28th July 2015

This walk started at Cleveland and followed some of the Gordano Roundabout walk

towards Cadbury Camp, the ancient and impressive hill fort.

We then crossed the motorway and Clapton Moor towards the Weston Big Wood Nature Reserve,

where there was deciduous woodland and an old quarry full of regenerating shrubs and flowers.

We circled the wood to Nightingale Valley which lived up to its charming name,

and then took the coast path which should have been a lovely end towards Cleveland.

Unfortunately a single cloud bringing heavy rain seemed to follow us all along the coast,

only clearing as we reached Cleveland.

The path in Cleveland however was wonderful, being elevated above the town,

and in full sunshine, and we went over Dial Hill past the trig point,

and then along Strawberry Hill back to where we started.
