Tintern

31st March 2015

We went to the Wye Valley to avoid the gale force winds forecast over the hills, and had a generally sunny day. We started at Tintern and climbed up the old stone-paved lane to the church of St Mary on the hill overlooking the Wye.  We then followed the Angidy Valley to look at the sites of the iron workings before following the Wye Valley for the rest of the walk.

There is always plenty of interest in the Wye Valley, including the deciduous woodlands, open areas with views, the flowers in season,

small attractive hamlets and old buildings, stone walls and the old stone stiles, and green lanes.

You can find all these types of grave here.
Many commemorate the ironmasters who ran the wireworks along the Angidy Valley below

No - we're not walking all the time!
