Caldicot

This was an interesting walk because we tried many paths we hadn't used before.

It developed into a good walk with many historical features,

including Caldicot Castle, the medieval village of Runston and ruined chapel,

the St. Pierre Great Woods, Kite's Bushes and the lovely valley into Mounton,

Mathern with its church and Bishops' Palace,

then the Wales coastal path towards Black Rock and Sudbrook

with the more recent history of building first the railway tunnel,

and then unusual views of the second Severn Bridge
