There was a very welcome breeze off the sea, and the atmosphere was amazingly clear all day.
It was possible to see North Devon as far as Hartland Point,
and the Pembrokeshire coast as far as St Govan's head.
The clarity lasted all day, and was the best I have seen in many years.
