Merthyr

15th Jan 2013

Another beautiful day - after over-night snow the roads were treacherous,

but we were rewarded by stunning scenery North of Merthyr.

Starting along the Taff Fechan, we then went up Cefn Cil-Sanws,

before descending to the Llwyn-on Reservoir, crossing the dam,

and returning along the Taff Trail which was very overgrown.

The end was also interesting going over a viaduct, and finally crossing Pont Cafnau,

the world's oldest cast iron railway bridge and aquaduct.

We were parked at Cyfarthfa Castle.
