Cwmaman

 17th March 2012

Couldn't resist coming back to this lovely area to try out some different and less-used routes.

Again we started at the car park on the A4233 between Aberdare and Maerdy, and made our way down into Cwmaman,

by a completely different route, after a steep descent, along a lovely route beside a stream.

We went over the mountain into Ferndale, by following the edge of Cefn Craig Amos before crossing the valley and up onto Tarren Maerdy.

We dropped into the Rhondda Fach Valley, passed the first reservoir, and returned to the car by following cycle route 47,

which was nice and open, and a good quick return.
