Lac des Trecolpas

Haute Vesubie

Another beautiful walk for our last day - always difficult to choose where to go, with so many walks we hadn't done. It wasn't a long walk, and we would have liked to go up to the pass, but the snow looked quite formidable (in the French and the English sense). We debated whether to try it, and even asked two French guys what they thought, but couldn't quite understand the answer. Ray really wanted to go, Carol and I were not sure of our ability, and Robert most likely made a wise decision, not to take any risks, so we didn't. No regrets, it was a lovely walk anyway, with plenty of time to take in the wonderful scenery.

The walk was taken from the book of walks, we went clock-wise past the refuge do Cougourde, continued on up to the Lac des Sagnes, then returned to the refuge, and on to the Lacs des Trecolpas.
