Starting at Llanover, with a short piece of canal,
cross country, to the open moorland,
& South
through fascinating beech woodland
to Cwmavon,
across the Afon Lwyd, and along the disused railway
to Blaenavon
Blaenavon is now an international booktown.
with the whole of the main street is devoted to specialist bookshops.
and the old ironworks
Ascending then to Mynydd y Garn Fawr,
rather desolate,
but with its interesting vegetation,
and lovely views to the south & east,
before descending again to the canal and Llanover.
